Women's Clothing
Colonial women primarily stayed at home, so they did not have clothes based on their job. Women would wear a linen or cotten shirt/chemise, petticoats, short gown/bodice, a fine linen or cotton hat (straw hat in the summer), an apron, kercheif, pocket, cloak for the winter, and a basket used as a purse. If a women was going out, her "dress" clothing would be a hoop skirt and her "undress" clothing would be a more modest skirt.
