Children's Clothing
Infant: Up until the 18th century, swaddling used to be how a parent would cloth thier infant. Swaddling was soon discontinued due to the restriction is caused the baby. Infants wore a dress with a close fitting bodice. The bodices would have strings attached so the mother could lead her child as they began to walk.
Toddler: Padded pudding caps were used to protect the toddlers skull, much like a helmet would. Boys and girls would wear stays to encourage a good posture. Younger boys would wear a frock or a gown.
Girls: White dresses with a sash around the waist was a typical outfit for a girl. Girls shoes would be made out of buff leather with striped linen lining, and were 6 3/4 inches
long with a 2-inch heel.

Boys: Dark leather shoes were worn with the boys sutis. Boys suits were made up of a white cotton coat and trousers, lined with linen. Large open collars were fashionable at the time.
