Colonial Clothing
Clothing was as important in colonial times as it is in the 21st century. Clothing can tell you all about ones social status and what class they rank in. In colonial times, what you wore also told others what job you or your family had. Fashion resembles one self image and in colonial times you were on top if you had the latest styles and fabrics. Along with wearing different clothes for your job, one would also change their garments due to what activity they were about to participate in. If one was invited to a ball, they would wear their "dress" clothing. "Dress" clothing means formal clothing and accessories. If there was a more casual event going on, then one would wear their "undress" clothing, which is their informal clothing. Clothing was and always will be of great importance.
